A New European Electric Car… Or is it 2?

Posted: February 25, 2010 in News

Imagine an electric car that could split into 2 cars so that each partner could do separate things when needed. Well, a company called Antro in Hungary have this idea on their minds. The vehicle is 3 seater hybrid drive system with solar panels on the roof that Antro say could give up to 20km city driving miles.

Here is a link to the Wired article.

This article also provides a link to another electric car project originating from Croatia. This one has 25KW motors attached to the front wheels, a max speed of 130kph and a range of 250km from just a 2 hour charge on the LiFeP04 batteries. Customers can also choose the lower capacity, heavier but cheaper lead acid batteries as an alternative. The vehicle itself looks like a Blade Runner version of the smart car.

Could Europe become the hot bed for electric car production?
